This privacy policy explains how SEO Tools Guide collects, uses, and protects personal data when you visit seotoolsguide.net or contact us through this website. SEO Tools Guide acts as the data controller for personal data collected through this site.

2. What this site is — and what it is not

SEO Tools Guide is an editorial website focused on SEO software reviews, comparisons, alternatives and educational content. The website does not provide SEO services directly, does not have user accounts, and does not process payments.

If you use AlphaSERP Tools (tools.alphaserp.com), that service has its own separate privacy policy which covers the data processing specific to that platform.

3. Relationship with AlphaSERP Tools

SEO Tools Guide is operated by the creators of AlphaSERP Tools. AlphaSERP Tools may be referenced, reviewed or recommended within editorial content and comparison pages. Ownership of AlphaSERP Tools does not guarantee rankings or recommendations. We aim to disclose this relationship transparently wherever relevant.

4. What data we collect and why

Contact form

If you submit an enquiry via the contact form on this site, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

Legal basis: Contract performance / pre-contractual steps (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) in responding to business enquiries.

Email correspondence

If you contact us directly by email, we retain that correspondence for the purpose of managing the business relationship. We do not share it with third parties.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site — pages visited, time on site, traffic sources. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics. IP addresses are anonymised.

Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) in understanding site performance and improving content.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Cookies

This site uses the following cookies:

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _ga_*) — analytics cookies that collect anonymised usage data. These are set only if you accept non-essential cookies via the cookie consent banner.
  • Cookie consent preference — stores your consent choice so we do not ask again.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Some pages may contain affiliate links in the future. Where applicable, affiliate relationships will be disclosed. Clicking an affiliate link does not increase the cost to the visitor. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

6. Third-party services

  • WPForms — processes contact form submissions on this site.
  • Google Analytics — anonymised site analytics. Google Privacy Policy

  • Hostinger — web hosting. Hostinger Privacy Policy

7. Data retention

  • Contact form submissions — retained for as long as the business relationship or enquiry requires, then deleted.
  • Email correspondence — retained for up to 3 years after the last contact.
  • Analytics data — subject to Google’s own retention settings (we use the default 14-month retention period in GA4).

8. Your rights under GDPR

As an EU/EEA resident you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw cookie consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) of Malta.
